Volunteer

Volunteer workers are one of the main pillars of the MAHAK society, as well as its largest investment. In fact, one of the main sources of income for MAHAK comes from its volunteer workers. A volunteer worker is a philanthropist who performs good deeds without receiving any kind of payment. Here in MAHAK, a volunteer accepts a task related in some way to MAHAK and becomes responsible for it. The only difference between a volunteer worker and an employed staff member is that a volunteer does not receive any form of salary. Otherwise, in all other aspects, they are the same. To emphasize the high position of a volunteer worker, the voluntary aspect of the job is recognized.
There are volunteer workers in all branches of MAHAK, from the founder of MAHAK to the members of the boards of trustees, and directors. Furthermore, many of the most prominent M.D.’s in the field of cancer work for and support MAHAK voluntarily.

There are several reasons why MAHAK needs the energy and support of volunteer workers:

1. The MAHAK society, like any other organization that is supported by the people, gets its social status from its volunteer workers.

2. By taking care of the needs of the organization, volunteer workers prevent MAHAK from employing staff members that can be replaced by volunteers and thus, reduce additional expenses.

3. By undertaking tasks, like the charity bazaars, volunteers bring in astounding profits for the organization.

Eventually, volunteer workers became the representatives of MAHAK by spreading the charitable message throughout the society. The heart of every organization is in the souls of its founders. The founders of this organization and its very first volunteers have been around as long as the organization itself. In the last twenty years, MAHAK has been continuously growing and as a result, the number of volunteers has grown too. In the beginning, the number of volunteers were few but now those few numbers have risen to four hundred people. Along with the four hundred people who work regularly and consistently at MAHAK, there are four hundred other people who work on a part-time basis.
The first and the oldest branch of volunteer workers at MAHAK is a group whose activities go back two decades. Following this group, the youth group is the second oldest branch. Today, with the growth of the organization, all volunteers work as active members in the big family of MAHAK. The core of MAHAK is held together by groups of volunteers such as the head directors and the members of the board of trustees. It is MAHAK’s pride and joy that doctors like Dr. Vousough, a very well-known  and remarkable specialist, choose to work at MAHAK as volunteers.
At MAHAK, the employed staff are also considered to be volunteers. This is because each one of the talented and specialized staff members could receive a much higher salary working elsewhere. The Head of Support Services, managing director, and a number of specialists have all spent a long period of time working as volunteers for the organization. The relationships built between the staff members and the volunteers are mutually beneficial for both parties.
The activity completed by the workers, which often involves easing cancer patients from their pain, commonly results in emotional satisfaction and high spirits. As a member in the big family of MAHAK, the volunteers not only take in good feeling but also the meaning of responsibility on a larger scale.
